PAUL ROBEY
About Paul
Paul's voice became a familiar one in Nottingham, with his professional broadcasting career beginning at Radio Trent in 1982. He later took up roles at Leicester Sound and assumed programme management responsibilities at GEM AM and the Classic Gold UK network. Paul launched Fosseway Radio in Hinckley for the Lincs FM Group before leaving to establish the successful major regional station Saga in the East Midlands, later programming the Saga Radio brand across the UK.
At BBC Radio Nottingham from 2008, his Sunday nostalgia programme became compulsive listening - attracting record audiences until the station changed direction and Paul moved on. At Notts TV he then presented a unique show of music and illustrated memories which also reaped significant audiences.
In February 2021, Paul launched Boom Radio - the UK music radio station for Baby Boomers - available on DAB and on your smart speaker or phone. As Content Director for such a diverse format, his music programming has won huge acclaim and impressive UK audience scale. Paul hosts the Request programme each Sunday at 6.00 pm.
